WE DESIGN NARRATIVES OF CONCEPT AND FORM. TOGETHER WITH THE CLIENT, KEEPING THE EARTH IN MIND AND THE FUTURE IN SIGHT.

We work within the realm of interior and furniture design, with occasional excursions into exhibition design and architecture.

A think-and-work-shop where challenging ideas and solid solutions are molded into long-lasting concepts and forms. Built with locally sourced materials, centering on 1:1 prototyping and reducing environmental impact.

We are  easy, friendly, and based in Berlin, Germany.

My name is: Till-Moritz Ganssauge, Dipl.-Ing. Architektur.

My education and passion is: the built envirenment.

My work life began: Together with Florentin Steininger, we found ourselves planning and implementing art pieces - installations, sculptures, exhibition designs for artists like Nathalie Djurberg, Camille Henrot, Maria Loboda and many more. Inspirations and narratives from the world of the fine arts paired with our passion for stories and formed one of the central goals in our practice: Narrative driven designs - enriching the built environment with receivable inspiring stories - telling stories thru design and architecture.

In 2012 under the label of stiff.design in collaboration with Mascha Thomas and a munich agency we developed the concept and design for the documenta (13) merchandise shops. We implemented a strategy that allowed us to use materials „unharmed“ for a 100 days and then recycling them back into their „natural“ habitat for further use.

This idea of sustaining the value of our resources and the understanding of the world as a circular system formed our second central focus in our practice: reeducating the reception of the built environment by the rules of sustainability.

I have a great passion for formal beauty if „formal“ is the surface for a valuable information, an inspiring offer, a connecting gesture. E.p. the inscription of process and genisis of a design, a material, a form into the design. Alot of this happens in the way things are put together. The joint is the place where quality is tangible (where faith is found). And this is the third column of our practice: the art of “things come together”.

TxL.design is the vessel for researching this topic within the scale of furniture.

Since 2023 I am offering a seminar at the Technical University of Berlin with the title „Das WESENtliche der Stadt“. We walk the city, we speak with houses, we introduce personal dialogs with the built environment, we learn to read facades and speculate about the genesis of architectures and the motives of the responsible players. This perception derived from the longing to approach the world of the built environment from the opposite site by taking responsibility as a citizen to know and understand the „tectonics“ of a city and question the ones in charge.

By now the realm of our practice embraces architecture, interior, art manufacturing, exhibition design, furniture and teaching as well as think-and-work-shops and counsulting on design related matters and projects.

ONE PLATE WONDER FAMILY - GEN 2
    BISTRO TABLE AND STOOL

Das One-Plate-Wonder Design Koncept basiert auf dem Anspruch die notwendigen Materialien nahezu vollständig im Produkt zu binden und daraus eine Idee für eine neue formale Schönheit zu entwickeln.

    NO WASTE - JUST WONDER

The One-Plate-Wonder design concept is based on the ideal of „waste-less-ness“ achieved by the principle of „1-cut-2-pieces“ co-authoring a new idea of formal beauty.

A NEW IDEA OF FORMAL BEAUTY
The 2nd generation of One-Plate-Wonder designs does not claim to be waste-free, but to design the waste. The LaLeLo bistro table and stool are formally and constructively interdependent.
